Baltimore police: Gun used to kill rapper recovered
BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore police say they've recovered the gun that was used in the fatal shooting of a popular rapper.
Department spokesman T.J. Smith says officers recently arrested a man who was in possession of the gun. He said it matched the weapon used to kill Tyriece "Lor Scoota" Watson on June 25 as he was leaving a charity basketball game.
Smith says the man, who wasn't immediately identified, is considered a "person of interest."
Police have said Watson's killing was retaliatory, and that someone close to Watson may have been linked to a previous violent crime.
Days after Watson's death, his manager, Trayvon Lee, was killed. Smith said no arrests have been made in that case, and said the department is still working to determine whether the two deaths are related.
