Description
The Commercial Manager for Tanzania is responsible for leading the growth of Monsanto business in Tanzania for both Seeds and Agchem product lines. He/She has direct line responsibility for the commercial function.
This position has a significant business development role as the countries represent a big potential of growth for Monsanto.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Commercial manager is accountable for developing and implementing the strategic growth and operational plan for the local market to achieve overall brand and market share growth in the Region.
He is responsible for delivering financial targets for both seeds and crop protection business (net sales, gross profit, SG&A and EBIT) and ensures collection of receivables.
He participates in all business planning, forecasting and budgeting processes
He/She is responsible for achieving the set budget by leading a multifunctional team to achieve sales targets, recommending the right go to market approach an lead the implementation of actions to generate demand to better reach our customers.
The position is responsible for developing and supervising the sales team and partnering with the rest of the functional areas of CES and connect with the Africa region to achieve the right support and connectivity, as well as attract and develop talent.
Lead implementation of the strategy to achieve LRP/Budget objectives
Develop and implement commercial policies in order to deliver the numbers
Implement credit strategy in order to limit the business risks.
Manage P&L and balance sheet to meet/exceed financial targets
He/She manages and leads the development of the sales team;
Attract/motivate people
manage this team by setting directions and leading by example
develop team effectiveness
set goals, assess performances and propose rewards
Provide data-driven competitive and market information (competition actions, market trends, product performance/satisfaction levels, commercial acceptance and regulatory issues) to Africa Management.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Engineering, business, agriculture, Graduate studies on business is desired
Languages: English
WORK EXPERIENCE
Significant direct sales and team management experience
Agricultural background an Advantage
Strong leadership
Knowledge of the products and industries in which the company operates
Direct and staff sales experience and Negotiating with key partners
SKILLS NEEDED
Understanding of vision, business strategy,
Understand what is driving P&L/ understands the financial impact of actions
Developing and managing budget plans to control costs
Ability to assess, understand and meet customer needs (internal, external including farmers, channel and stakeholders)
Leadership & Personal skills
Results oriented; Committed to action and results
Customer oriented; at ease in establishing a network with local stakeholders (distributors, dealers, farmers and associations, …)
