Trump wanted a white people versus black people season of The Apprentice
Donald Trump has voiced support for a lot of strange and wacky ideas, from which celebrity couples should break up to building walls to keep out Mexicans.
However, one old idea has come back to haunt him - and to prove he hasn't just been saying odd things to stir up publicity for his presidential campaign.
In 2005, he floated the controversial idea of having a 'blacks versus whites' season of The Apprentice.
He said on his radio show that he had “an idea that is fairly controversial — creating a team of successful African-Americans versus a team of successful whites. Whether people like that idea or not, it is somewhat reflective of our very vicious world.”

According to BuzzFeed, many critics thought Trump may have been inspired by a controversial reality show ABC had recently decided not to air - Welcome to the Neighborhood, which
"would have allowed three white families in suburban Texas to choose
their new neighbors from among a group of contestants that included
Koreans, African-Americans, pagans, and a same-sex couple with an
adopted black child".
Trump acknowledged that "Not everybody thinks it’s a good idea" at the time, but that didn't stop him publicising the racially-segregated season idea.
